With different formulas, meant to meet any kind of interest, the two Famiglia Cotarella wineries open their gates to those who are eager to discover the world behind every label of ours.

Wine Experience

      "Lazio & Umbria in the glass" Tour & wine tasting

      A proposal discovering the family's Cotarella story, tradition and great passion for wine. The experience includes a tour of the winery with tasting of two wines (Soente 2022 /Viogner and Trentanni 2021 / Sangiovese and Merlot) with a selection of territorial pairings.

      Duration: about an hour and a half, minimum of two people

      “Cru & terroir” Tour & wine tasting

      An exciting experience to discover the many differences of our terroirs. The proposal includes a tour of the winery with tasting of three wines with a selection of territorial pairings: two most representative crus Marciliano 2018 (Umbria) and Montiano 2020 (Lazio) and an old vintage.

      Duration about two hours, minimum two people

      “Marciliano Experience” Tour, lunch & tasting

      This experience was created for those who want to learn more about our family: story, tradition and passion, discovering curiosities about the excellence of our production between Lazio and Umbria. After guided tour to the winery and cellar, the experience includes a technical tasting of three Cotarella wines (Metodo Classico Brut Rosé, Soente 2022 and Marciliano 2018), accompanied by a four-course seasonal menu lunch prepared with local ingredients and traditional recipes. Everything is homemade according to our grandmother Grazia's recipes. Lunch will be held in one of our tasting rooms in comfortable and refined settings, depending on the number of guests.

    “Wine Experience in Cellar”

      “Five senses Experience” Tour, lunch & tasting

      A fascinating experience to discover the excellence of Famiglia Cotarella. It starts with a pleasant walk in the vineyard and the visit continues in the winery following the entire winemaking process. Finally, you descend into the heart of the hill: you land in the Barricaia where the lunch-tasting is held in the special dedicated room. A true sensory journey involving our guests: scents, flavors and tradition. The experience includes the technical tasting of four Cotarella Family cru wines (Metodo Classico Brut Millesimato 2016, Ferentano 2020, Montiano 2020 and Passirò 2021) paired with the menu with family recipes made with local products related to seasonality and availability in our garden. Everything is homemade according to our grandmother Grazia's recipes.

    “Le Macioche Wine Experience”

    In 2017 a dream come true for Famiglia Cotarella: the acquisition of Azienda Agricola Le Macioche. A challenge and a great opportunity to broaden its horizons and deal with a territory considered a reference point in the Italian wine scene and beyond, and it is with the 2017 vintage that Famiglia Cotarella decides to kick off this new and exciting adventure.

      A Family Signature Tour & wine tasting

      The experience in the Val d'Orcia is truly immersive. Hills, forests and vineyards surround Montalcino: a terroir that gives exceptional qualities rooted in a timeless history. The visit continues inside the winery to discover the winemaking process and trivia about one of the world's finest wines: Brunello di Montalcino. A fascinating experience to discover the excellence of the winery. A lunch-tasting in the rural residence with traditional dishes paired with three wines: Brunello and Brunello Riserva from current vintages joined by an old vintage.

      “Food & Wine Experience” Tour, lunch & tasting

      The experience in the Val d'Orcia is truly immersive. Hills, forests and vineyards surround Montalcino: a terroir that gives exceptional qualities rooted in a timeless history. The visit continues inside the winery to discover the winemaking and curiosities about one of the world's finest wines: the Brunello di Montalcino. The proposal includes tasting of two wines: Brunello and Brunello Riserva of current vintages, paired with Tuscan schiaccia, local prosciutto, Pecorino di Pienza and bruschetta with our own olive oil.

      Duration: about 3 hours, minimum two people

Information and Reservations

Our cellars can be visited all year round and reservations are required. We are open from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:00 and on Saturday from 11:00 to 18:00. Closed on Sundays. Possibility of baby sitting service at our educational farm www.fattoriatellus.it for children aged three and over. Special menus for children. NOTE
Our staff is our family and the experiences are conducted by qualified personnel. Tours are available in Italian, English and Portuguese. The structures are equipped with a large outdoor car park to accommodate groups and a wine shop where you can make purchases. For experiences with lunch, a reservation of at least 48 hours is required by calling or sending an email. Please report any food allergies or intolerances in advance. In fact, we offer special menus for people who suffer from food intolerances or allergies or have special needs.

APERITIVI <BR>IN VIGNA

Cercare l’orizzonte tra i vigneti, sentire il profumo dei luoghi, adagiarsi sul prato al tramonto, semplicemente lasciarsi andare, assecondando il ritmo lento della natura degustando ottimi vini e assaggiando piatti del territorio.

L’aperitivo in vigna è un’esperienza totalizzante che coinvolge tutto il nostro essere, i sapori vengono esaltati dall’ambiente circostante in uno scenario bucolico che evoca un senso di appagamento fisico e mentale.
La proposta include tre calici Famiglia Cotarella accompagnati da focacce fatte in casa, paté della nonna, delizie di fritti, verdure dell’orto e altri piatti del territorio che variano in base alle stagioni. L’aperitivo viene organizzato nei vigneti adiacenti Fattoria Tellus, negli spazi esterni della foresteria o nella sala dei Cavalli.

Possibilità di baby sitting presso la nostra fattoria didattica.
L’esperienza è disponibile da maggio a settembre.
